Above is the original pencil version of the Starlin Academy school crest from Subhuman Sanctum: First Civilian Contact, a graphic novel I wrote with artwork by P.R. Dedelis. We worked on this crest design in 2013. Time flies!

Traditionally, the Starlin Academy has been a strict boarding school whose members are allowed no contact with the outside world. Now its doors are about to open, and the world will soon discover a whole new meaning to the term, “non-human intelligence”!
Subhuman Sanctum is a coming-of-age story in an age where the human race prepares to welcome its galactic neighbors. It will not be a smooth ride…
