Pitching a story before writing it is often deemed a necessary skill in the various entertainment industries – movies, television, comics, etc. I’ve never been particularly good at it, which I have realized is okay, as not many are.
What I deem as truly essential, and what I wish someone with experience had told me when I was starting out, is this – no matter what, don’t ever let anyone or anything stop you from telling the story you wish to. One that’s burning deep down, demanding to be unleashed. That comes from the heart, and speaks to your soul.
I’ve learned over the years that there will never be enough, or too many, stories like that. The world will always need more of them.
