The possibility of one day standing face-to-face with an alien life form is no doubt being seriously considered by an increasing number of Earth humans. Whether it’s a visitor from another planet or a native on a planet we are visiting, such encounters are now a very real prospect. So what will you do when it happens?
In the opening sequence of Lyra Nebula, a space western comic I’m writing and drawing, indigenous inhabitants of a small planetoid encounter a being from outer space who descends from out of the sky. Half of these natives react by bowing down in worship, the rest run away in terror. But there is one who does neither.
How does this lone remaining native react to a close encounter of the fifth kind? His dilemma is one we may have to contemplate in the near future…
